1. Solar power reduces greenhouse gas emissions
One of the biggest environmental benefits of solar power is that it can generate electricity without releasing large amounts of harmful greenhouse gas. Other historically traditional methods of generating electricity, such as power stations, often burnt coal, oil or gas, which released carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. The carbon dioxide created contributed massively to climate change, increasing temperatures, melting ice and raising sea levels. Solar panels generate electricity from sunlight instead of fossil fuels, which produces no carbon emissions during production.
